This is kind of funny. I had been keeping it a secret ~ but I do write. I have finished a full length manuscript for an inspirational romance novel. I had
always dreamed of becoming a writer, but been too afraid to actually try it. Now I am. The book has been through quite a few edits and is almost ready to go to
a professional editor. I have already talked to her about pricing. I just have to finish my last changes and then hand it over. After that I'll know
whether it might be ready to submit to publishers or whether it still needs more work.
I just launched a website about my writing as well (under a pen name). I am having a drawing next month for an autographed book. I will try not to say more about my website or writing (until something gets published - then I probably won't be able to hold back) but I wanted to share
that I have changed a couple more things. One is that there is another review and contest up ~ this time for a historical series. People can enter for both -
or either one - just let me know which or both when they enter. Also - I have set it up so you can ask to be added to a notification system if I do make a
major change to the website, add a new contest ~ that sort of thing. So, I won't need to bug you all by posting these things... Of course ~ you are still
free to just stop by whenever and however often you would like. {Please send your friends too} lol

Peggy, that is so exciting! I am so pleased for you. I love Christian fiction as you know. I can't wait to read your book.

Did you like it? I thought she wrote something a little different from the usual. Her main characters aren't young, skinny, "perfect," people. I
was pleasantly surprised by that. I also thought the whole idea for her book was original. I mean ~ having someone pose as the groom; I had never heard of such
a thing.
If you did like it, be sure to enter the drawing for her second book. She is going to autograph the copy of Menu to send out to the winner. I am pretty excited about that. I'm working on some new stuff for the site, a links page (or maybe two of them - one for my favorite authors & one for helpful writing links). I'm excited, but I'm pretty bad about getting the word out. I am a naturally shy person. I didn't even tell anyone I was writing until I had already finished the first manuscript and had it gone over and ready to send to an editor to be picked apart. lol It was still in pretty bad shape. Ahh - someone's been checking on me. lol I was just going to go make some more changes. I got the first half of my book back from the editor ~ so I am
revising it again. I also am working on a form I want to add to one of my links pages.
The picture was... not my idea. It is almost a requirement for authors. I hope to lose a little before I have an "official" picture, but I might as well get used to the idea. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Cor 2:15

Oh - yes. I am going to do that. lol It doesn't feel like a big celebration at the moment - just like a lot of hard work. Plus I am struggling with the
cover. Doing it myself is proving challenging - but hiring someone else is... $$$$$$$$$$$$ Every article/book I read about publishing your book lately seems to
talk about the importance of the cover in the decision over whether or not to buy your book. Most say 75% or more buy a book based solely on the cover.
Lovely odds there. If you take a look at most of the books on the shelves - they don't have one picture on the cover - it is more an amalgam of 3 or more pics all blended together with special effects and usually some special graphics thrown in there too. My limited program will take red-eye out - and tint a picture or lighten/darken it... but it won't put more than one pic together - nor do I have any of those special graphics... and I don't have a bunch of pics to use either. I'm not sure what to use. So - the cover is sort of a sticking point for me. Revising is going pretty slowly too. I want to get it right, but I should be going faster than I am.
